This donation follows other charitable programs FLATO has initiated in southern Ontario communities. Most recently, FLATO made a $1 million gift to improve access to healthcare in Dundalk, where the developer is currently building almost 1,500 homes in the communities of Edgewood Suites, Edgewood Greens and Carriage House. Additional recent community support initiatives include donating approximately $500,000 for personal protective equipment to help in the fight against COVID-19, as well as donations to local Ontario food banks to help those in need during these difficult times. FLATO also supports the Markdale Hospital and has the naming rights of the hospital lobby.

Flato Developments and the Rehmatullah Family have a long history of philanthropy, from supporting hospitals to homeless shelters and many other important projects.
