“Eye-conic” and Exclusive Eyewear Collection by Walmart Canada X Elton John 

The iconic, the legendary Elton John has collaborated with Walmart! On March 4, 2022, Walmart Canada announced the launch of its first-ever eyewear collection with the famous singer. John ​​worked closely with Walmart to develop and create stylish, high-quality and accessible eyewear pieces, which embodies his musical career and flare for fashion. For example, John personalized his designs with names such as “Rocketman”, “A-List” and “Prodigy”, which all have deep meaning to his career. In addition, the collection consists of funky shapes and fun colours representing his personality.

There are four collections called The Foundations Collection, The Formative Years, The Working Musician and The Master Collection. The Foundations Collection — an exclusive evergreen collection — consists of 60 unique designs that are available to purchase at Walmart’s Vision Centres across Canada. Each design is embolized with a signature temple tip silhouette that includes an “E” star symbol and his iconic star brand detailing. Buyers have the option to include a prescription or non-prescription, sun and readers categories. These frames retail for $99 CAD before tax. 

The Formative Years collection consists of classic designs that represent John’s early childhood and his time as a music student. The Working Musician symbolizes his awakening of what he would become with next-generation styles. Finally, the Master Collection is inspired by John’s own personal taste in fashion and eyewear collection from his career. This collection includes “collector” frames that are signed by the singer and are available only at Sam’s Club in the United States. 

His goal was to create a variety of pieces to ensure there is a frame for everyone. He stated, “Elton John Eyewear celebrates confidence, self-expression and authenticity,” while continuing to explain, “The line is designed to have something for everyone, so no matter who you are, you can always look yourself. It’s not just about glasses, it’s about changing the way people see themselves.”

The collection is also in support of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, where Walmart Inc. will donate a minimum of $1 million, annually, raised from his eyewear collection to increase awareness and educate people about the cause.

She further continues, “We know customers look to us for quality, on-trend brands at everyday low prices. This new launch will deliver a fun and trendy range of eyewear that will make our customers feel and look their best. On top of that, we’re proud to shine a light on the work of the Elton John AIDS Foundation.”
