150th anniversary of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC), the Royal Canadian Mint has released a remarkable limited-edition coin. The $20 Fine Silver Coin features a genuine meteorite fragment, as well as other artistic elements that depict outer space. This creation, designed by Canadian artist Alexandra Lefort, is symbolic of the contributions Canadian astronomers have made to society, says Randy Attwood, executive director of the RASC.
