Villa Gambin Grand Prix
Held at the Grand Prix Kartways at Downsview Park in Toronto on March 29, the second annual Villa Gambin Grand Prix saw 20 four-person teams race each other, all in good fun and for a good cause. Peter Koliviras of Team Raw took first place of the Grand Prix; Andrew “Axe” Bordin of Team Dorex G.P. came in second; and Andrew Pellerito of Team Plunger Racing landed in third. After the Grand Prix, a special celebrity race took place between 16 GTA-based stars, from the Hon. Julian Fantino, minister of veteran affairs and former board member of the Villa Leonardo Gambin Charity to Tom Brown, weather anchor at CTV News Toronto. Fernando Zerillo, co-founder of Dolce Media Group, took home first place; Frank Serpa, dealer principal at Serpa Automotive Group, landed in second; and Mattia Bello, community reporter at Lo Specchio, came in third. Approximately $28,000 was raised from the Grand Prix, which went to benefit the Villa Leonardo Gambin Charity and its long-term residence for seniors and adults with special needs.
