Whether you’re in the mood for pop, country, R&B, or electronic dance music, nothing really beats the feeling when the right song comes on at the right time.

Thankfully, The Body Shop has put together a list of top songs to listen to, with a song for every mood, and more interestingly, ideal playlists for every zodiac sign. 

Take it from the beauty brand’s astrology expert Laura Wilson-Brown, who says that astrology can have an influence on what taste in music you have: “Music is such an evocative art form, and certain zodiac signs will naturally gravitate toward different music. Where a sweet-natured Pisces may love to rock out to politically and civically motivated folk artists, like Ani Difranco, such music would likely bore an Aries who likes a little more fire and passion in their music.”

Using The Playlist Miner as a tool to review more than 60,000 Spotify playlists named after each zodiac element, the beauty brand found out the most popular songs that occur in playlists for each zodiac sign. From there, they were able to create a personalized playlist specifically created for each one of the 12 star signs. 

Another way that The Body Shop has delved into creating the playlists was by looking at Beats Per Minute (BPM), which is the number of times a beat is repeated in one minute, therefore expressing the tempo of the song. This was an important factor, as it showed how different signs react to different tempos. 

Below are the final playlists that will satisfy all the zodiac signs: water, fire, air and earth signs. 

Top 10 Songs for Water Signs (Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio)

The Body Shop delved into 27,069 tracks featured in ‘water sign’ Spotify playlists. The top 10 songs featured were:

According to Wilson-Brown: “Water signs are typically more versatile in their musical interests being they’re a mutable [or prone to change] sign. I have found that water signs have some of the most diverse tastes in music and often listen according to their mood.”

Top 10 songs for Fire Signs (Sagittarius, Aries and Leo)

The Body Shop delved into 12,276 tracks featured in ‘fire sign’ Spotify playlists. The top 10 songs featured were:

“Fire signs tend to lean toward music that is a bit more passionate and upbeat. The type of cinematic-level music that gets the heart pumping,” says Wilson-Brown.

According to The Body Shop’s astrology expert: “Air signs spend a great deal of time in their heads and need music that stimulates them mentally, so creative lyrics and emphasis on the content of the song will matter to them…Since air signs tend to lean toward knowing the latest and greatest and like to feel they’re on the cutting edge, they will often seek out a wide array of music that others likely have not heard of. They love feeling like they’ve enlightened another’s musical prowess.”

According to Wilson-Brown: “Earth signs enjoy music that is very hands on; think of those who can both sing and are impeccable with an instrument, such as Tori Amos for example, who can both sing and is a genius on the piano. They also gravitate toward music that is organic and may have sounds of the jungle or ambient ocean sounds playing in the background. Ultimately, if not organic, they want music that someone clearly invested themselves into – body, mind and spirit.”
