Starting January 19, tens of thousands of design gurus and wide-eyed novices will flood the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for the 19th annual Interior Design Show. The event is Canada’s gold standard for showcasing exciting new products and furniture, design pros and innovative exhibits, drawing some of the biggest visionaries in the world of interior design. City Life shares the must-see guest speakers and exhibits at this year’s show.
Amanda Nisbet: bold meets beautiful
Known for her affinity for beautiful colour, texture and pattern, the author of Dazzling Design will join Globe Style columnist Jeanne Beker for Globe Style Saturday on the Caesarstone stage to share her journey through design. It’s no doubt that Nisbet’s art history training in Italy and years at Christie’s auction house have influenced and helped cultivate her incredible talent to balance boldness and elegance.
Martyn Lawrence Bullard: designer to the stars
This Los Angeles-based Brit has wowed the design world with his eclectic mix of style and era — a room designed by Bullard could keep the eyes occupied for hours. His expansive brand of stunning furniture, fabrics, wall coverings and home fragrances run from the light and whimsical to the bold and elegant. Impressively, Bullard has consistently been named one of the world’s top 100 interior designers by Architectural Digest, he has featured permanently in Elle Décor’s A-List and has been named one of the top 25 designers by The Hollywood Reporter. Nicky Haslam: rocking design for nearly four decades
Britain’s premier interior designer and mastermind behind NH Design will also be taking the Caesarstone stage on Globe Style Saturday alongside Globe Style editor Odessa Paloma Parker. Haslam has rocked the spaces of rock legends Mick Jagger, Ringo Starr and Rod Stewart with his grandiose glam and bespoke furnishings — think sexy and chic with a practical finesse. The fruits of NH Design can be appreciated globally, as Haslam’s portfolio spans restaurants, commercial spaces and offices across the Americas and Europe.
