House of Love is reminding the digital world to choose love and kindness through its interactive monument.
Do you miss those times when lovers penned letters, waited for replies and even kept those as a poignant memory of their romance? What if I told you there’s a platform where you could not only experience that, but you can also leave notes of kindness for anyone in the world?
Founded by Andrei Bondarenco and his girlfriend, Maria Grupposo House of Love launched a one-of-a-kind monument: the world’s largest interactive heart app. Participants can sign up for a free account and leave a message of love, wisdom, relationship advice dedicated to someone special, or just a reminder of kindness, making the world a better place to live in.
The online world is full of conversations full of hate and division, highlighting a significant lack of human connection. House of Love was born out of one question that the couple kept asking themselves: “What if there were a place on the Internet designed to celebrate love instead?”
Rejecting the traditional way, the couple decided to launch the platform by taking a trip in June from Quebec City to Vancouver and back to Toronto. The highlight was printing about 2,000 vinyl stickers with actual messages that had already been given to the monument and covering the car with them.
Motivated to connect with people, they stopped at various places, talked to hundreds of people, distributed stickers and held little pop-up events in nearby parks.
The response was highly positive. Everywhere they stopped people asked about the initiative, told their personal tales and took pictures of the car.
This reaffirmed the couple’s faith in their passion project and in the tremendous desire we, as humans, feel for compassion, love and human connection.
Now, more than two months since their project was launched, their hope is to build the biggest heart in the world, where people can express kindness via their digital notes. Most importantly, it is a celebration of love that rises above and beyond all differences.
