Looking to spend a day filled with the best of art and cultural delights? The Lassonde Art Trail is undoubtedly the best destination to celebrate the magic of art. Expanding its presence, it launched the Lassonde Art Trail (LAT) West with seven newly installed sculptures.
It features playful, captivating pieces by renowned Canadian and international artists including Ryan Gander and Hank Willis Thomas. The launch coincides with the growth of Biidaasige Park, which is owned by the City of Toronto on the newly renamed island of Ookwemin Minising (formerly known as Villiers Island), in the Port Lands.
Toronto residents can enjoy LAT’s program of rotating and permanent contemporary public art year-round for free. With the introduction of the West Trail, there are now 15 public art installations throughout Biidaasige Park. This is an incredible step in revitalizing the city’s waterfront and adding a new dimension to Toronto’s cultural fabric.
