A Defining Moment For Canadian Fashion
Against the stunning backdrop of Lake Simcoe, Friday Harbour took the iconic fashion collective series to new heights.
Canadian fashion took centre stage this summer as Friday Harbour and the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards (CAFA) unveiled the fifth edition of the Fashion Collective Series.
This August’s event celebrated a milestone year against the scenic backdrop of Ontario’s Lake Simcoe, with Fashion Magazine as the official media partner.
The waterfront stage and open-air runway, set on the CIBC Pier, hosted a striking presentation from designers that included David Dixon, Frascara, Revelle, Rock ’N Karma, Michel’s Bespoke, Tilley, Alan Anderson and more. The professional styling, live entertainment and immersive production resulted in one of the summer’s defining cultural moments.
Said Hani Roustom, CEO of Friday Harbour, “This year’s Fashion Collective was a defining moment for Friday Harbour and for Canadian fashion. Against the stunning backdrop of Lake Simcoe, with models arriving by boat, a crowd energized by perfect summer weather and high-impact runway moments, it truly embodied the spirit of creativity and community we sought to honour. In a time when championing local talent has never felt more vital, we were proud to elevate Canadian designers on this iconic open- air stage.”
A curated retail market, musical performances and a pre-show dinner at Beach Club Restaurant complementing the runway presentation. Altogether, the weekend program beautifully encapsulated Friday Harbour’s commitment to style, community, and Canadian talent.
