“I wrote a love song,” Wood shares. “It’s about loving those early sweet days in a relationship. Wood’s artistry has always balanced modern R & B polish with something rooted and personal. She was raised in Saddle Lake Cree Nation in Treaty 6 territory, and her earliest performances took place in community spaces — powwows, schools and family gatherings.
