Men and women of all ages came out to support the second annual event -
Each player was committed to the LOVE cause, raising a minimum of $250 each to support the organization -
Event-goers were encouraged to spread the message of non-violence in their communities and continue to raise support for the cause -
Considered to be a space of non-violence, respect, creativity, friendship and problem solving for youths, the tournament aimed to strengthen these values in the players
Leave Out Violence (LOVE) Ontario held its second annual charity basketball tournament on March 14, 2015, bringing together donors, supporters, youth leaders and alumni to raise awareness and funds for LOVE’s youth violence prevention programs. The event, which took place all day at the HoopDome in Toronto, saw 30 teams compete in a three-game, full-court, three-on-three round-robin format, followed by semi-finals and finals. With each player contributing a minimum of $250 for the cause, the event raised over $66,000.
