Joe Carter Golf Tournament – Vaughan
Eagles Nest Golf Club overflowed with star power on June 26th, as the fifth annual Joe Carter Classic Golf Tournament brought celebrities and professional athletes together to help raise money in support of the Children’s Aid Foundation and other local charities. Former Toronto Blue Jay Joe Carter, known for his legendary walk-off homerun that clinched a second straight World Series championship for the Jays in ’93, welcomed over 40 sports and entertainment stars, including Toronto Maple Leaf Joffrey Lupul, former CFL quarterback Damon Allen and television personality Charlie Sheen. The day was capped off with a jam-packed after-party at the Shangri-La Hotel in downtown Toronto, which included a live performance by hip-hop group Salt-n-Pepa. Since its inception in 2010, the event has raised nearly $1 million.
