The V School
The Montessori School of Kleinburg is spreading its love of learning overseas. When the school’s co-founder, Enza Pellegrini, took part in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon in October of 2012, she decided to contribute the funds she raised to building a school in Africa through the non-profit organization The Olive Branch for Children. Inspired by Patricia, who is a Tanzanian Montessori teacher educating children in Tanzania, and Pam, who spends her summers there also teaching and facilitating teacher training, Pellegrini was determined to help build a proper learning environment for them. With $5,500 already raised, Utengule-Usangu Montessori Kindergarten (the V School) is finally under construction, but there is still $6,500 left before the end-goal of $12,000 is reached.
