The 21st annual Strides for Mackenzie Health was all about philanthropy and community engagement when more than 2,000 people came together at Canada’s Wonderland.
Presented by PureHealth Pharmacy, the event demonstrated philanthropy at its best: almost $460,000 was raised to support Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital and Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital.
There was something for everyone at the event, where people could choose between a 3k walk, a 5k run or a walk. Following the event, attendees and participants stayed for music, family-friendly activities as well as snacks and drinks provided by the kind local partners. The funds collected will be used for the hospital’s needs, including upgrading patient rooms, purchasing new and replacement equipment and modern technology — to ensure that patients and families throughout the western York Region have access to high-quality care. Through community-building and fundraising, the event truly demonstrated a commitment and hope for a better future.
