The City of Vaughan broke ground this past summer on a $9-million renewal of Fire Station 7-1 at 835 Clark Ave. Built in 1985, the station will undergo a full modernization to improve operational efficiency, reduce energy use and extend its lifespan. Funding includes:

• $7.9 million from the City
• $880,000 from the Government of Canada
• $220,000 from the Province of Ontario.

The upgrades will support Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service’s emergency response, expand sustainability measures and meet the needs of a growing Thornhill community. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2025.

Once complete, Fire Station 7-1 will also provide backup to nearby Station 7-8, helping improve city-wide response times. The revitalization reflects Vaughan’s long-term vision of strengthening community safety while advancing environmental responsibility. This project demonstrates collaboration among all levels of government to deliver infrastructure that protects residents and supports first responders.
