Toronto Fashion Week (FW18) took over Yorkville Village, setting the city on fire with excitement. We saw incredible collections from names like Hilary MacMillan and WRKDEPT and heard talks given by many fashion industry professionals. And with so many wearable styles on the runway to drool over, we were sure to tune in to all the best shows.

Day 1

We heard from Gersha Phillips, Star Trek: Discovery’s costume designer, about fashion and designing for the future, then took in shows from UNTTLD and Narces as well as Christopher Bates, who showcased his distinct looks incorporating textured fabrics and structured, tailored suits, offering a modern take on classic styles. The clean lines and hearty fabrics had us wanting to skip summer just to get our hands on these stunning pieces.

Day 2

The second day of fashion talks saw host Donna Bishop chat fashion and the royals with columnist and author Shinan Govani as well as Bojana Sentaler, designer and creative director of SENTALER. Next, audiences were captivated by stunning shows from renowned houses like Nonie, Tara Rivas, HENDRIXROE and others. Soft lines and jewel tones struck a chord, leaving onlookers drooling over the latest styles.

Day 3

The final day of FW18 began with fashion talks, where host Donna Bishop chatted fashion, costumes and The Shape of Water with Academy Award-nominated costume designer Luis Sequeira and assistant costume designer Ann Steel. This informative session preceded astounding shows from Mani Jassal, Pedram Karimi, Andrew Coimbra x Uncuffed, Hayley Elsaesser and S.P. Badu. The day ended off with an invitation-only fundraiser called Fashion Heals.

All three days of the Toronto FW18 preview showcased captivating looks on the runway, punctuated by makeup from the beautyBOUTIQUE™ sponsored by Shoppers Drug Mart and styling by award-winning hairstylist and nail expert Victoria Radford. This pairing has us hoping the leaves will turn quickly so we can get our hands on these amazing looks just a little sooner.
