Feel the SpringZing with Zilli Home Interiors
Zilli Home Interiors can dress a home like it’s attending a red carpet event. We chatted with owner Natalie Papia about her favourite spring décor trends, from daring to darling
Antique Magnifique
“We’re seeing quite a bit of white wood furniture. It’s got a bit of a rustic, antique look. It’s new for spring, and customers are already really interested in it. It really complements the nostalgic trend that we’ve noticed for the past six months or so, which is definitely being continued into the spring. People are incorporating old, heirloom type pieces into their décor — for example, grandma’s antique sitting chair. Homeowners have these things restored, reupholstered or revamped to bring that touch of nostalgia and history to their home without sacrificing modern style.”
CafÉ Chroma
“Espresso is a classic colour that will never go out of style. It’s always going to be perfect for the dining-room table or living-room coffee table.”
Fuchsia Flush
“Everyone’s tired of the winter and wants to add some colour and freshness to their home. With respect to colour, the hue of this spring is Radiant Orchid, which Pantone has announced as the 2014 Colour of the Year. This fuchsia colour is often being contrasted against pure white. It’s easy and inexpensive to incorporate this trend into your family room because all you have to do is find some decorative pillows in that colour, put away the toss pillows that were used in the fall and winter and replace them with these new ones. It’s a fun and simple way to bring a pop of spring into your home.”
