The fifth anniversary of the Dare to Wear Love (DTWL) Gala at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Toronto drew in a crowd of glitterati and superheroes clad in couture to catch the best of Canadian fashion while raising support for the Stephen Lewis Foundation. Jeanne Beker, Robin Kay, Suzanne Rogers and Glenn Dixon were among the super-fabulous fixtures of the Canadian fashion and design industries on the scene, who took in a stellar performance by Divine Brown and spirited walks on the runway by power couple Kirstine Stewart of Twitter Canada and actor Zaib Shaikh; international supermodel Stacey McKenzie; real estate mogul Brad J. Lamb, society editor Amoryn Engel and Traci Melchor, co-host of The Social. Mikael D, Whitney Linen, Brian Bailey and Comrags were among the many participating designers.

Since DTWL was launched in 2009 by Hoax Couture founders Chris Tyrell and Jim Searle, the city’s most anticipated charity event has raised over $275,000 for the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which helps to provide care and support to women and children living with HIV and AIDS. One hundred per cent of proceeds from this year’s gala will be donated to the Foundation’s critical community-based work in Africa.
